VATA PACIFYING DIET

Favor foods and drinks that are warming and oily in nature. They should taste sweet, sour and salty. Include: rice, wheat, dairy, products made from sugar cane, oils, sweet fruits (grapes, cherries, peaches, melons and avocados), well cooked veggies, spices ( black pepper, cinnamon, caramom, cumin, ginger, salt, clove, mustard seeds) and white meat/seafood.

Avoid or restrict foods that may cause imbalance. Reduce light diets, fasting, dry cold foods and drinks with hot, bitter or astingent tastes. Avoid: barley, corn, millet, buckwheat, rye oats and dried fruits. Raw veggies should not be eaten: potato, brussel sprouts, cabbage, peas, cauliflower, lettuce, spinach, bean sprouts, zucchini, celery. If you do eat these make sure they’re cooked. All beans should be avoided except dahl, green beans and tofu. as well as beef, rabbit and pheasant.
