Kapha Dosha
Kapha energetic are the elements of water and earth. It is the constructing, cementing material that gives structure and stability to the body.
Its primary qualities are heavy, slow, liquid, cold, oily, sticky, slimy/smooth, dense, ard, static, cloudy, soft and gross.
The physical characteristics of kapha are solid, heavy build. Bone structure sturdy, strong and well developed. Gains weight easily. Lots of cushioning around the joints. Muscle definition not as distinct as vata and pittas.
Kapha people psychologically in balance are sweet and calm by nature. They are built on kindness, thoughtfulness and service. Kapha people put others before themselves. They are relational and are concerned about “others” before themselves.
Kaphas minds are slower than vatas and pittas. Assimilating information happens at a slower pace and may need a few passes before comprehending. Yet, once they do they will remember it like an elephant. Kaphas are builders and give structure to pitta and vata’s ideas and projects. They are good with money and tend to be wealthy.
Out of balance (also called imbalanced), they feel forgotten and overlooked. They feel emotionally dismissed and not seen. Kaphas have long memories and hold grudges. They tend to feel that they’re unappreciated and not rewarded for their good deeds of kindness and consideration.
